Crossroads were looking for a service provider that has the expertise in Marine Transport but also understands the hospitality side of the service. For Crossroads, it was essential to not only transport guests but also understand and achieve customer satisfaction.

Given its previous experience in the tourism sector in the UAE, Jalboot had all it takes to deliver an excellent service. Jalboot offered vessels that are uniquely designed for Crossroads, fully equipped with air-conditioning and a capacity to transport over 4,000 passengers per day. In addition to ensuring a luxurious water transport service, Jalboot has also focused on sustainable design and build for its vessels through the following :

• Water jet propulsion instead of conventional propellers, which can have a damaging effect on precious marine life and coral. Water jet propellers are better suited for the geography of the Maldives.
• Full-scale SOLAS standard facilities.
• A catamaran design engineered to enable vessel stability and comfort: This is very important to ensure travelers have a pleasant and comfortable experience and taking into account different weather conditions.

Furthermore, Jalboot offered a one stop shop’ retail space that will display different vessels and spare parts, with a chandlery stocking specialist supplies and equipment. This retail space will include a dedicated VR lounge for visitors to experience virtual tours on many of Jalboot’s vessels available for purchase. Through extensive staff trainings and good management, Jalboot is successfully running guest transfers between Male and Crossroads.

Varu were looking for a professional watersports provider that could run a dive and watersports center from A to Z.

Jalboot therefore established “Koamas Dive and Watersports Center”, as a recreational center that offers motorized and non-motorized water sports, diving trips, excursions, fishing and luxury boat charters among many other services. To answer its client’s requirements, Jalboot has put in place a system where Koamas could package its services to offer hotel residents a full experience on the Maldivian colorful waters including complimentary services such as food and beverage and entertainment. Moreover, Koamas has the possibility to promote itself to tourists and turning them into hotel residents through exciting activity packages.

Jalboot faced a few challenges in the implementation stage; but with perseverance and good communication with its client, Jalboot and Varu were able to successfully give birth to KOAMAS who could potentially become a leader in the watersports world.
